The New Ford S-Max Concept (pictured) will debut at Frankfurt
Ford’s sporty take on the Galaxy – the Ford S-Max – has been with us since 2006, so it’s time for a change. But with Ford in Europe not having the best of times and the new Ford Mondeo not expected to arrive until 2014, the all new S-Max – which will have underpinnings from the new Mondeo – won’t be arriving until 2015. But in the absence of anything new to show at Frankfurt, Ford has put together a Concept version of the new S-Max to try and show Europe it really does have new stuff on the way.
The tease begins for the Spyker B6 Venator Spyder
Back in June we revealed that Spyker appeared to be heading to this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show with the B6 Venator Spyder, before which it would make an appearance at Salon Prive for a bit of a Garden Party. That was made even more certain when we revealed that Spyker would take the Venator Spyder to Pebble Beach for a reveal ahead of both the Frankfurt Show and Salon Prive a week or so ago. And now Spyker have confirmed.
The Hennessey Venom GT – an American, Lotus Elise-based supercar – has clocked 265.7mph for a new world record top speed for a production car. The world top speed record for a production car has been held by the Bugatti Veyron (well, the Veyron Super Sport) at 258mph, but that’s a ‘limited’ speed for its production cars. The Veyron Super Sport actually hit 267.81mph at VW’s Ehra-Lessian track (it actually hit 269.8mph one way) but because production cars are limited to 258mph the higher speed doesn’t count.
